Comprehensive corporate analysis in preparation for whole-business performance improvement

In order to be able to act quickly and target measures accurately, we need to obtain a holistic overview of the company. Based on our twelve years of experience in performance and result improvement projects, BGP has developed a highly standardized procedure allowing within two to four weeks to set out the business's strengths and weaknesses, determine its market and competitive position, depict the financial impact of its corporate development and draw up a list of those aspects that promise the greatest potential for profitability and improving cash flow.

For time-critical situations and special tasks, BGP can offer a "Quick Check" rapid diagnosis procedure which comes in four versions:

I. Continuation forecasts / rough turnaround concepts:

When a company is in a situation of crisis there is a pressure to act quickly. In view of the intense pressure to act quickly during corporate turnaround projects it is often essential for an analysis of the distressed company to be available within two weeks. On the basis of this highly standardized procedure the client and BGP can concentrate on the essential analysis modules required to assess whether it is possible and worth while to turn around a company in crisis, and to draw up a continuation forecast. We will be happy to share our knowledge and experience in IDW S 6 (i.e. the latest German standard for Certified Public Accountancy) as well.

II. Strategy audits / Implementation of a "strategic early warning system":

The "Strategy audit" developed by BGP is used to determine a company's strategic position or to identify strategic risks in its market and competitive environment, its business model or its product portfolio.

BGP offers to convert the methodology of this Quick Check II into a "strategic early warning system," which will then be soundly embodied in the company's organization as a permanent instrument of strategic control

III. Innovation audit / Potential analysis of R&D intensive companies:

This version of Quick Check takes into account the specific situations of research-intensive companies or of undertakings in industries (e.g. chemicals, pharmaceuticals, IT) with highly dynamic innovation patterns and short product life cycles. To take account of these factors, the aspects evaluated include the development pipeline and the innovation management system. The innovation audit is an indispensable analysis module where technology driven, research-intensive companies are to be restructured and realigned.

IV. Rating preparations and finance negotiations:

The systematically edited and presented results of a Quick Check can also be used in rating discussions with the company's banks or a potential investor with the aim of obtaining funds or negotiating changes in terms and conditions. Our Quick Check IV fulfils Basle II and other requirements specific to banking and the capital markets.
